Hi,
I have learned that if you have two vectors u = (1, 2, 3) and v = (4, 5, 6) you can calculate the dot product quickly as 1*4+2*5+3*6. Can this simple form always be used?

Hi,

This question has already been answered here. The short answer is no, only if the basis is orthonormal.
